Stuart Schuffman, is a contemporary American travel writer and blogger known for his guide book Broke-Ass Stuart’s Guide to Living Cheaply in San Francisco, of which he released two versions in zine form and one in book form. The book took on a life of its own as his wildly popular blog, BrokeAssStuart.com. Stuart recently ran for Mayor of San Francisco, raising awareness to issues often overlooked and softened by politicians and media.
I met Stuart in 2010 while working with Chrome Industries, and continued to work together through my time with Visit Oakland, Oaklandish and the Curran theater. I also launched and currently run the new BAS Poetry column.
